The Great Lawn – A spectacular backdrop for memorable outdoor events.

Following a recent refresh in 2025, Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort is spotlighting its Great Lawn as the largest private oceanfront lawn in Waikiki, offering meeting and event planners a rare high-capacity outdoor venue within a fully integrated resort setting. The expansive oceanfront space supports a range of event formats, from receptions and general sessions to large-scale group gatherings.

Offering sweeping views of the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon and the Pacific Ocean, the Great Lawn can accommodate up to 1,600 guests for a banquet or luau and up to 2,000 guests for a reception, making it well suited for high-capacity outdoor programs. The venue was refreshed with new turf, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality for large-scale events.
Designed to complement Hilton Hawaiian Village’s extensive indoor meeting and event offerings, the Great Lawn allows planners to create seamless indoor-outdoor experiences across a single, walkable resort property. The venue supports a wide range of uses, including welcome receptions, general sessions, awards dinners, and branded activations, with nearby indoor spaces available to support program flow and weather contingencies.

“The Great Lawn is a distinctive asset for meetings and events in Waikiki,” said Charlene Nakamura, director of sales at Hilton Hawaiian Village. “Its size, oceanfront location, and recent enhancements provide planners with a flexible venue that supports a wide range of group programs.”
Hilton Hawaiian Village is Waikiki’s true resort destination and one of Hawaiʻi’s most comprehensive meetings venues, offering more than 150,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space across its 22-acre oceanfront property. In addition to Waikiki’s largest private outdoor lawn, the resort features the largest-capacity ballroom in the state of Hawaiʻi, three on- site conference centers, and the largest single-resort guest room inventory in Hawaiʻi, allowing planners to accommodate large programs within a single, walkable destination.
